If i get a mega 10 Di unit and a mega 9 si unit, can i switch the transducers and have a mega 10 si and a mega 9 di and save myself $100?

No, a transducer does not add functions. You can share their functions via Ethernet.
Basically you can display SI on the DI unit from the SI unit.

Will I get the same clarity with the 10 di while using the transducer from the 9 si as I would if it was a 10 si? Or will it distort it somehow?

There is no “distortion”. The 10 has a higher pixel density display=more HD.
