I'll take my two old Mercs any day over anything else! 96 EFI and a 2002 EFI absolutely flawless condition. A rude or yammy is s pretty rare sight round these parts ya hear.
My ‘97 intruder is still running under another owner. Switched to a pro xs.
Too bad the anglers will never see any of the Mercury sponsor dollars. Fifty years and still basically fruit jar tournaments.

9yr old 225 Opti , not many hrs 170 in fact, no issues at all except one bad coil. First motor was a rude, no trouble with it either, but, the Ficht made me stay with Mercury for life.

I think Morris owns a substantial stake in Mercury Marine, if you remember right. They used to changed back and forth between Mercs and Evinrudes, every few years, been nothing but Mercury for at least 20 years.
Old Mercs all over the waters here in AL. Those original Merc XR6 plus EFI motors still run like rapped apes.

I ran my 1996 Ranger with a 1996 Mercury EFI for 18 years with no problem. It is still running.
I wonder....what is considered old. lol

My 2002 has a 150 EFI that runs like a champ. The Pro's don't care about old motors as they get a new one every year. They have to have a 2013 or newer boat to qualify for Ranger Cup. They have service crews at every big event.
So is this a Merc money for FLW thread or a brand pissin contest? I got lost by post 2
