Guys on the Ranger post just told me it's a temp sensor.

I assume it's for the Humminbird unit that came with the boat

If it is, then the transducer is a XP 9 20 T 2D transducer which has a remote temp sensor. If you add a SI unit with Y cable to a console unit using that transducer, the temp sensor is not connected. Temp would come from the SI transducer.Originally Posted by 241

Thanks Wayne. I'll use that transducer and temp on my helix 10 for mapping. I have a helix 10 SI that I'll be installing a SI transducer to the transom in the spring.

Just me but it looks like that is a larger hole with the temp sensor in it. I would call and see how large the hole is. You might be able to trade for a thru-hull transducer for the mega and mount it there.
