    93sv $$$$. Im confused

I have been pricing 93sv units and I am find ing prices from $750 up to $1000 for the same 10-01804-01 units. I think thats the number on them. Why are the prices so wide? I see the newer Plus model. Are these being phased out?

You have to shop around. I was just pricing Aerators and they ranged from 15 to 45bucks for the same unit.

I have been looking at them also and there are two versions ....... the new one is touchscreen and model 010-01901-01 so I would guess that yes the 010-01804-01 is going away

Three generations. The generation terminology and "G" notation is my own reference, not theirs.

G1 010-01391-02 echomap 2d, side, down. No 2d Chirp. No Panoptix. No ethernet sharing.
G2 010-01804-01 echomap CHIRP . Adds chirp and Panoptix PS21,PS31, PS30 compatibility. PS22 with V4.2. No ethernet sharing.
G3 010-01901-01 echomap Plus. Adds Panoptix PS22 compatibility, now touch screen, ethernet sharing to another G3.

Note: I have corrected the above post to show PS22 compatibilitity on the echomap CHIRP with v4.2 software.

My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

Then you wouldn’t buy the Echomap.

I just played with Lowrance Elite ti, Humminbird helix mega and Garmin echomap plus units for about an hour at BPS. Garmin wins, hands down. The menus and touch screen work seemless. The size of the units is nice also. I just wish they offered the plus chirp non side vu units in a 9 inch. They stop at 7. The 7 does accept panoptics, but a 9 screen for panoptics would be nicer without the likely wasted sidevu expense for the trolling motor unit just to get a 9 inch screen. Maybe the sidevu isnt wasted and all askew on the trolling motor while in use. Any opinions there? Oh, and the price of the Garmin plus units were the lowest.

Side view on the TM is were it’s at. Now I have Panoptics and rarely use side view anymore.

I have REALLY bad eyes and 7" is fine for just Panoptix. I just cant read the small numbers for distance out from transducer.

Did it come packaged with a transducer? Which one?

I've had all 3 "generations" now. The advantage I see with the new plus version, besides touchscreen which isn't huge for me, is the networking capability that is supposed to come in a software update Q12018. The non-plus version I believe will be phased out as stock is depleted. The plus version's MSRP is the same as the non-plus version. If garmin was going to keep both, they would either lower the MSRP on the non-plus or increase the MSRP on the plus, not come in at the same price point in my opinion.
