    Spring-Lock Pedestals

Any of y'all purchased a new stand-up spring-lock pedestal lately? I was wondering where I might find the best price. Cabela's has them for $129.99.

Most of our Champs use Snap-lock, not Spring-lock....tho I must admit to being out of the loop in the very latest Champ seating.

Try Walmart on line. That's where I got mine. I think they were $99.

Springfield Taper lock is what was used on the Champs up through the early 90s. Swivl-Eze Snap-Lock is what is on my 07. Springfield Spring-Lock has a small hook on the bottom.

The snap locks are dying in production it appears. I frequent various marine places and the spring locks are the only ones being sold now. If you need a snap lock, you better hit the internet and order them before they are gone for good.

My BPS catalog shows Swivl-eze Snap-lock pedestals and bases. It also shows Springfield Spring-Lock pedestals and bases. BUT, it is not a new catalog. 2016... so not sure if they still carry them. I need to look on line, but this dial-up is slower than ever today.

Yes ma’am, but if you go into their stores they only have the other style. That’s why I mentioned that a person might order some from the net if they are needing them. Academy also is only carrying the spring lock style too.

But is there any reason why the spring lock wouldn’t work in the older boats like ours? I think and I’m probably wrong, but don’t our snap lock bases have a hole in the bottom of them?

I don't know if spring lock would fit. I have not looked into the base in a very long time. I have really nice billit base plugs in mine.

Mine have the little plastic hook on the bottom and I'm 99% sure they are Spring-Lock (08 210 ChampioN)

Are yours broken or gone? There is a stickie up top on how to replace the dampener, might be different with that style; but might be the same too.

meh, I’ll link it for you.
