Hard to beat Wayne and those HT boys.

Doesn't Yamaha have the problems figured out now?

The 14-15 model year release seems to have resolved the issues. I didn’t hesitate in re-hanging one. I also agree with Paul on the 1.62 gearing. That would go a long way in getting to the next level on performance hulls and really help with propping choices. I have had zero lower issues and Wayne’s mod will run up to 3” above with good WP.

Not as of two weeks ago, a friend of mine with a brand new 200 SHO was stranded when his engine blew in the first week.

Not taking anything away from Yamaha or Mercury but that happens to both engines some will be trouble free for years and some will give you problems from the start Gona keep my old 300 hundred pro mag its old technology but seem to have less problems than the new stuff

Went to the boat show today, and there seems to be lots of SHO's available. The price is right on them to. As far as reliability goes, Yamaha is the only brand I haven't blown up yet. Lol.

I suspect that it would run 100mph or above!

I heard something about not even being able to get a SHO right now if you wanted one. Not sure how much truth there is to it but I heard they haulted production for now.

I would go with an E-tec but since thats not one of your choices go with where you have the best dealer reputation for repair/service.
