Question on downloading map updates on my Garmin 840xs

Support is closed until Tues and I want to work on maps install today. My question when I go to updates, it list 2. U.S., Canada, Bahamas Combo Detail Map redeem by 12-22-18. The other listing is US Lake Vu Combo update 1-12-19.

I bought a 73DV in Nov 2017 with Lake Vu

And I bought the 840XS with Lake Vu and Bluecharts G2 in Dec 2017.

Is one of the maps an update for 73 and the other for my 840XS. Not sure what to do

I agree that the map names used for the available updates are confusing. The 840 update is U.S., Canada, Bahamas Combo Detail Map, and the 73 update is US Lake Vu Combo.

Thanks Todd, I am still confused on maps for the 840XS, is that combo detail map just for Blue Charts GE, since the 840 also have Lake Vu preloaded. I am going to hold off doing Lake Vu until late this year on the 73DV and wanted to do same with Lake Vu on my 840XS. Hope what your telling me doesn't mean that when I down load the 840 update its not both maps

Cartography verified that the map listed was the BlueChart/LakeVu built-in update for the 840. For all units with built-in combo BlueChart/LakeVu mapping, the update is one file and updates both (you can't just update the BlueChart portion and not the LakeVu).

Thanks Todd, I should have waited until I called today, but its done. I will wait until late in 2018 to update Lake Vu on my 73 Dv
