    LSC Ice / Eerie

Gents, Please be careful out on the ice. As a Coast Guard pilot, I can confirm as of Friday night there is a lot of open Water just off of Metro Beach. Also lots of pockets in anchor Bay. I have seen a lot of things on other forums saying there’s possibilities of open water, but I can 100% assure you the ice is pretty thin. The Coast Guard has had multiple calls in the last few days for people who went through on LSC and Eerie, and I successfully rescued five people who were stranded on a large ice flow 2 miles offshore down near Toledo on Friday night. Had we gotten there 2 hours later, the flow broke up and they would not have made it. Not looking for any glory or thanks- I just want to pass the word to be safe.

Thanks for your service and for taking the time to post a warning. Very, very dangerous out there.
