Just bought a new 250 SHO in July, always ran Merc's. So far it's the best I've ever owned. Would be good to get the computer printout with history before purchase. Good luck.

I had my doubts but the 2012 and newer 4.2L SHO motors are solid and can easely be moded for additional HP.
mine is the 14 model sho and its a very reliable motor, no problems. Yamaha's just run. how many hours are on it?Originally Posted by ser68

Just sold a 2013 250 SHO W/264 hours on it. Never had a single issue. Just changed the oil and filter as per manual. Excellent motor.
