I always do well in March and April, and later in the fall around Sept or Oct. There are some locals here on the SC Bass Club, that can tell you when to hit Santee.
Frog fishing is great on upper lake May to October.
Thanks guys appreciate the feedback. May/June is going to be best for me this year, hopefully it will work out weather wise.
Feb and March tend to be the worst for weather. May- June shouldn’t be bad other then heat and occasional t-storm.

Just get out there as soon as you can in May. The top water bite is still there in the later months but it gets alot shorter. couple of hours after daylight and there looking for cover.
