Just did some work to a 50hp and realized this wire was disconnected. Mechanic looking at boat was unsure why it would be disconnected, but he didn't want to reconnect it based on not knowing what someone else may have done in the past so now I am trying to determine what this wire does.
Photo doesn't show it clearly, but the wire is a light brown color with white stripe
Not absolutely sure. I'm thinking trim sensor.

Trim sender wire
^^^^^ white strp male conn goes to trim sender on some applications light tan goes to temp sender for analog gage in some apps,tape um up,that key harness is design to fit many mtrs
