Water Temp from US2

I recently posted this in the Lowrance forum, but thought I would post here as well.

I recently swapped from a Fortrex to an Ultrex. My HDS12 G3 bow unit is set up to receive water temp from US2. Console unit receives from LSS-1. Previously the 2 would differ by 1- 1.5 degrees. Since installing the Ultrex, the US2 shows a temp 15-20 degrees lower than LSS-1. The temp shown by the LSS-1 is pretty close to what other boaters in the area are showing. Any suggestions?

Turn the units on with it setting on the trailer so you get ambient air temp. This takes the possibility of water column out and you can also know what the actual air temp is.
