    Wife vs MG

Well I’m not sure Amy (wife) is going to help put the cat on the lift anymore.
It seems she forgot the the trolling motor was hot as she leaned over the nose to hook the front ropes on.
of course she pushed on it at least twice trying to get it way from her chest. (I am so glad it wasn’t her face). I could tell how much it hurt by the number of F— words that came flying out. Proceeded by kicks and punches. She didn’t start crying until it (trolling motor) was almost removed from the boat.

I’m so glad she had a thick coat on and it didn’t cut her or break her collar bone.
It’s funny now. And she said she will drive next time.

Always remove the power when stored and that's a common issue when leaning over the bow to release the strap.

There's a lesson here, as a famous ex-president would say "A teachable moment". It usually only takes once, one time getting whacked by the T/M prop to guarantee one turns off the Trolling Motor, turns it to "off" on the dial, and if possible, unplugs it before leaning over the bow.

One of the nice things about the Ultrex is it needs to be deployed to spin the prop.

Trust me, it wouldn't cut her up. It will break the shear pin first. I have first hand experience lol. I cut the thing off from that point on and now the ultrex won't turn anyway. You could always use this as an excuse to get a safer trolling motor like, oh I don't know, an ultrex

When I leave my final spot to head towards the ramp I ALWAYS at least turn the speed to off on my Fortrex, 99% of the time I do that and flip the switch to off also. That way when I load the boat there's no worries of an accident.
