With the Mcguard prop lock can the prop spin loose due to not having a cotter key?
NO! It has a Belleville washer as well and a nylock nut on the keyed lock. I have used one for 15-20 years.

I'll be buying one this year. Don't need to wake up one morning with a missing prop, that would suck. I'm wondering without the pin if anyone has ever lost a prop while having this lock on
