XI5 owners LOOK ...heads up on a problem that you can avoid.

I love my XI5 and have it linked to my Lowrance Gen2 12" touch and a Gen 2 10"but I found a problem. There is a wire that goes from the board to the turning mechanism...if you look straight down when the motor is down you will see it right in the middle. It is held down by a plastic clip and screw. Problem is where goes under the pivot...it rubs and my wire was frayed. If you look when it is stowed away... looing from the blade side you can check for damage. It rubs ever time you put down or stows away. My warrantee is over in March.... glad I seen it today and they are going to fix it...but they have to replace the whole steering system. Better check yours.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to take a look.
