I would be sick if Phoenix sold to the evil empire. JM is wiping out all the independent boat builders to keep the prices high and the quality low which means big profits for him.

I’m thinking waco is doing a little pot stirring. It is funny to read some of the reactions.

They aren't gonna sell unless jm writes the stupidest check ever. Too many ranger, legend, and triton owners are flocking to birds. Just wait till JM brands go merc only. Especially if he does it when the "sho killer" 4 stroke comes out. You'll be hard pressed to find someone that wants to spend 70k on a boat with a new production motor.

I remember this same post in the Legend form sometime ago. Many said it would never happen.

My bad, only good can come from a corporate buyout and mass produced boats.

And just what 'good' would that be? Cheapening of the boats?

Sarcasm, I don't believe anything good would come from a JM buyout.

To be fair, Nitro boat quality has only improved since he bought them

I don't think Nitro built enough boats before Alan Stinson was bought out by JM to have many problems. Lots of people will correctly point out that Nitros are better quality now than 15 years ago. But if you ranked the top 8 brands on quality, and customer service 15 years ago, vs today. Nitro would have been Ranked 8th then as well as now.

Do we have these rankings or are we speculating. Serious question, as there may be a list

We are also talking about legend boats. Not Phoenix boats

Ranger quality has been on a downhill long before JM bought them and looking at the new "L" series, he has it moving back in the right direction. Legend isn't going anywhere and I would bet triton quality improves by moving to their plant. Nitro quality continues to improve as it has over the last decade. Much better to have a true outdoorsman as the owner rather than some equity firm that could care less about a boat or anything other than the bottom dollar.
If you’re the owner of a business and want to sell, you sell on the climb not when business is bad. I’m not saying one way or another what’s going on with JM and Phoenix but as a business owner to maximize your profit you sell high just like in anything else.
