Question about my livewell

Dumb question but I want to know if this cover in the picture will come off. This is the recirculation input in the livewell.

Yes, it should twist off.

use caution and be gentle or you will snap the plastic,,,, wouldnt hurt to "lightly tap" the circumference with a screwdriver handle before attempting to turn

I'm afraid that already happened. I had an issue where when I turned on the re-circ for this livewell the pump would run but no water was coming out of the nozzle. So I thought the input was blocked somehow. I tried to turn the black part to take the cover off and it wouldn't budge and then the whole thing started turning. Took the boat out again later on and noticed a small leak somewhere. I believe I broke the seal behind that livewell and now it's leaking. Problem is now getting to it from the bilge.

Well sounds like someone is going to be doing some disassembly very soon
