    It works well. Easy to pull the system to land fish. You can also tilt the transducer to scan wider

    Yes the batteries are sealed. Not sure if I would trust a trickle charge after ruining a battery. If you have an extra 12v you can jump off the 12 and charge it with no problems. Just use alligator clips and larger clamps to fit the post on the 12v.
    I built a small plywood box to house mine. Took most of the afternoon to complete it. The wife was real proud of me when she said I had other things that needed attention, instead of that d**n box
