    Which O2 Sensor

Hello everyone, I have a 1999 200 OX66 and back in 2006 the power head was replaced. It has been a great motor and I do my maintenance regularly, plugs, water pump, filters, ring free in every gallon, etc. It seems my O2 sensor has finally given it up (682 hrs. go figure). To my surprise when the powerhead was replaced in 2006 it has the O2 sensor assembly (gaskets and block) of the type a 2003 thru 2005 has. My question is this: The 1999 uses a O2 Sensor part #65L-8592A-00-00 but the 2003 uses a O2 Sensor part #65l-8592A-01-00. I have a new 65L-8592A-00-00 can I use it or do I need the 65-8592A-01-00 ?

If you call SIM Yamaha they will be able to identify what you have just by what the parts look like. Hydro tec replaced my 99 block with a 03-05 and Andy knew what gasket kit I needed just by describing the parts to him. They have very good pricing also. I believe the 02 sensors are the same but the seals are different. If the connectors are the same [I believe they are] the one you have should work fine. If not give SIM a call. CJ

save yourself over $200 and order a NGK/NTK 21006 from Amazon. $40. You'll have to cut and splice the connectors but it's the same sensor.

Yes, just make sure you splice back to the same position. Just did mine last week; took all of 20mins.

I just changed mine so this is the first for me. Plenty of threads though with folks running them for years. That's how I found out about it.
