    Transducer question

I’ve never owned a Garmin. I’ve had birds and Lowrances. My brother got a Garmin last year and loves it. I got another boat and am thinking about putting a Garmin side imaging unit at the console. One problem with the other units I’ve had is when I get on plane with a transom mounted ducer and reach a certain speed it quits reading. With birds I could add another ducer in the hull and fix the problem. With Lowrances I could hook a ducer to the unit in the hull and hook up the lss1 and get Side imaging at lower speed and regular sonar on plane as well. Is there a way I could do the same kind of thing with a Garmin unit? How could I do it? Really interested in trying them out but thi is the one thing holding me back at the moment. Thanks a lot

Sure, no worries at all. You can run inhull 2D xducers and transom-mount Side/ClearVu xducers on both echoMAP and GPSMAP products. Specifics can be provided if you indicate what specific units you are looking at.
