    JIG FISHING ?????

Can anyone give pointers for jig fishing what types of jigs are best for different situations, Flipping, swimming, casting, Finest, Football? Do you really need a different jig for all theses applications? What time of the year is best and do you bottom fish or swim them? I don't fish this technique and want to start you know what watching he pro do to you LOL

Football on any bottom up to boulders
flipping when “punching” grass or in wood
finess when the fish are negative fish slower
swimjig to swim use a trailer

all these can be swam, all can be crawled but what is above is the ideal situation given the weedgaurd, head shape, skirt style, line tie.

football head made with lead has a shape to benefit not getting stuck in rocks
Swim jigs line tie helps a trailer get a wobble action
flip jigs have an internal line tie to help it get through whatever and a stoudt weed guard
finness weaker weed guard, flimsier skirt and smaller profile

That really depends on how "thick" the log piles are. I personally prefer a casting jig or a flipping jig for brush piles/log piles. Football jigs are better for rocks.

I like a flat eyed Arkie style for casting into wood.

I like these the best. I cut the weed guard down on all my jigs and thin it a lot.

I have some football jigs. I like to toss one to help find grass and feel the bottom etc, so I usually have one tied on for that purpose.

I like ACTLURES arkie style in 3/8. They are board sponsors
I use it for skipping, swimming and even bottom fishing

1/2-3/4oz football head jig with a vertical line tie would do wonders for fishing logs and brush piles in that deep of water
