OK Boys, what's your fav NY lake

I've fished Chautauqua a few times and it's a got a fantastic spring bite. Get's my inland lake vote. Erie is my all time favorite though!!

Hudson River (stripers and LM), Champlain and Chautauqua. Also have had good luck out of Dunkirk for SM. I'm hoping to try the St. Lawrence river one of these days.

St. Lawrence river is an amazing fishery... Erie and Ontario are great as well... some of the best smallie fishing in the world exists in those three places IMHO

Chautauqua has been my home lake since 1983 so it gets my top vote despite being tough the last couple years. Erie is a close second.

    Thanks Al for the board.

Live 5 minutes from Lake Erie in Buffalo. Chautauqua has sucked the past few years. Homeowners overpower fisherman and they kill the weeds regularly now and the fishing has suffered. Plenty of awesome lakes in NY though. Cayuga, Oneida, Champlain, all the bays of Lake Ontario and several smaller ones I won't mention.

Going to the lake today to count the ice fishing huts. I always love the foot race a first light.

Only have been too Chautauqua. Can’t get my old man to go farther east from OH. Last year was a down year. Scum algae all over. Hopefully picks back up this year or I’m going farther east!

As we all can tell from the above posting's NY is loaded with good bass water, my favorite would be what I am fishing that day. I live in the same area as Tcbass and just retired so I plan to be doing a lot more spring Erie this year it is tough to beat.

clean up is done yes, still some lingering issues there now saying.. However opened it to swimming so good enough for me. 20 lb bags on a regular basis are common. I had (3) 20 plus pound bags there this year. To many 16 plus to count. its fishing well.
