I fished some pretty bad water and the end of last year and my port side grip handle broke while my co-angler was hanging on. Just thought i would share some info. First of all, the handle must have been put on before the top cap was put on. They have a bolt with a nut on the back and there is now way to access it. so i cut a 4" hole and found this solid cover plate from TH Marine, I didnt like the screw in kind. The new handle is also by TH Marine. The handle has 2 (1/4" nuts, use 7/16 wrench to get off). The 4" is small, lucky I have a 10 year old that could get his arm in there. I probably cut have cut the hole elsewhere, but it worked.
