Last day.... For Tennessee...lil emotional... As always..

Seen a couple bucks this morning and quite a few does this afternoon.... Always get a lil sad when I lock that gate on the last evening knowing I'm not gonna come back tomorrow.... But at the same time if you hunt like I do you get to breath a little now knowing you can take a break.... After Alabama's season ends anyway.

I know how you feel. Was sitting in the stand and last light remembering the highlights of the year. Then thinking of past years with loved ones that are no longer here. This year was 48 years in the deer stand, man that's a lot of memories.

Im usually in the same boat your in but it was different this year. Just wasnt feeling it at all. It didnt get cold here till really December so First of Archery, all of Blackpowder and all of rifle were almost warm! I never once truly got excited this year about going. My wife ask me if I was okay.

I've gotten that talk before... What's wrong.... Nothing... No something's wrong... You ain't acting right... Both the good deer I took in the 2016 season were on days over 70 degrees..I had to make myself get up off the couch...

I'm always sad to see it go and already looking forward to next year. The way I see it, you only have 3 months to make enough memories to last the next 9. I live by that and hunt as much as I can. I had a good and bad year. Missed the biggest deer I ever shot at, he'd gross boone. Neighbor 3/4 mile to my NE shot him on opening day of firearms season. Missed a late archery season 8 point due to bow problems in sub 0 degree weather. Ended up with 8pt. and 2 does with bow, 2 doe with muzzleloader and 1 doe with rifle. On to pigs and coyote now!!

We will still be going till mid February, we haven't met our numbers yet. I'm ready for it all to be over with.

I'd be buying some core lokts to shoot all them does..or some silver box Winchester's....
