    Can I switch to DFI

    Good afternoon everyone,

I have a 2010 optimax 150. I purchased the boat this past summer and now the time is coming to add oil. Previous owner used penzoil premium which is about 20 bucks at walmart.

So should I switch to optimax dfi oil and is that even safe to do or should I stay with the penzoil?

    Thanks
    Mike

Thanks JOE54... so it wouldn't be a good idea to gradually add the optimax dfi oil over time till im using 100% dfi?

Maybe its just my lack of experience but it seems like if I just did a full switch it may "shock" the motor????

If you drain as Joe indicated, refill to 80% and only add DFI afterward all will be fine. Maintain oil level in your remote tank (in boat) so it doesn't drop below 30% or refill to more than 80%.

Might be a dumb question but how do you drain the oil? Do you actually take the container out? Just take off both caps, remove container and drain it? TIA
