Pull the head/side transfer port cover and try to find out what let loose. rings/piston. ect. Condition of cylinder. Big thing with crossflows is that the cylinders can only be over sized to .030-.040 They have to be checked for oversize and taper/runout to see if block can be re-used or saved. Has the motor ever been apart or rebuilt? Some times if the cylinders are ok, you can re-do the bad one but motor has to be 100% taken apart to do so. On a motor that old, it is usually easier and cheaper to find a newer motor,,,say a fast strike or Intruder and let her rip. Most of those old crossflows have seen better days.
