    New Yamaha motor coming out?

    Anyone have the scoop of what new motor Yamaha has coming out? news release is January 18th....

    i heard someones boat got cancelled because he ordered it with a sho, and suposibly the sho has encountered a manufacturing issue. possibly wont be able to make enough for skeeter. lets hope its a new motor...

    Saltwater outboards are backordered in the 4-6 month range, could get worse before better.

    If they take a page from the Mercury playbook it will be a 500 hp, race-only limited edition motor and maybe 10 guys in the world want.

    I would agree they have been using fly by wire in motorcycles for over a decade. Would it be allowed to build a motor with 400 hp on tap but tune it not to break what is allowed for a 250 rating? This would allow even more torque! And sipping fuel just meandering down the lake at 45% throttle

    Well I don't highly doubt it. It come straight from Yamaha because I had one ordered on a Phoenix and will now be running a Verado. Yamaha said no SHOs until further notice and will probably be none for the rest of the 2018 model year

    So there is zero inventory in SHOs. I doubt that as well.

    I think Yamaha was shaving production to create more demand as there new motor drops, as they said, in there Facebook video, “nobody saw this coming” and they were right.
