    Two questions on Guntersville

Heading down the Guntersville for a week March 17th thru 24th, renting a house about mid-lake.

Anyone got any suggestions on what to prepare for at that time of year?

Which gps card is better for this lake, boater has a Lowrance HDS5 Gen2's.

Prepare for wind. Guntersville gets like the ocean when the wind gets up.

dayWhat he said. Navionics cards will be fine on G'ville. Most cards have will have it enhanced. Will be plenty crowded; Guntersville in March is like Daytona Beach on spring break.

I used to live on Guntersville and yes the Navionics maps have very good detail and accuracy. I used the Navionics+ card which has maps for the whole US and Canada, so you don't have to switch cards if you're coming from out of the region. I would also suggest getting their app, which has the same maps but I like the routing and auto routing features for measuring distance and also finding ramps.

You should have a fun trip, but if the boat traffic is too much and the fishing is a bit slow, come on up to Chickamauga about an hour up the road and check this lake out.

Also......if you happen to just want a card for the South region, theres a $50 rebate for the Navionics+ Regions card. Its a regionalized card but it has everything you need for Guntersville and then some. Might be a good time to look at that.
