just bought panoptix ps21 transome mount

hi i just bought the garmin panoptix ps21 transome mount transducer ,any of u guys use a transome mount and does it work as well for seeing fish as the trolling motor mounted one ,looks to be identicle but nounted on trolling motor

It's not identical to the other PS21. It has a 20 degree cone instead of 45 degree. Buy the trolling motor mount 010-12407-00 $24.99. Google the number and you may find it cheaper. I've used one extensively on the trolling motor and like the 20 degree a bit better than the 45.

i want it mounted on the transome that is why i got the ps21,with a 20 degree angle do u think it will work as well on transome as tmotor

You're not going to be rotating it? Just pointing forward from the transom?

It will work as that's what the transom mount model was designed for.

I use the same one as yours, but I have it on a gutted trolling motor that I clamp to the transom and rotate.

It works well. I can cruise up to 4-5 mph with it down pointed in any direction and then latch it up for higher speeds. I just bolted the transom mount to the skeg or fin, whatever its called, on the bottom of it.
