Anyone running Fury 4 on 919

Been thinking about trying a 4 blade prop for better hole shot. I know i will lose a few miles an hour. What pitch 4 blade prop is right for a 919 and 225 proxs?

My hs with the fury 3 couldn't be any faster. You must be dragging a heavy load!

I also have been wondering about a Fury 4 to reduce chine walk. Is there really nobody that has tried one on a 919?

I did a couple years ago. It worked ok, but I forget just how ok. :-) I didn't write things down like I should have.

I run a 25 tempest most of the time. My 25 fury is faster but I like the tempest better for everything else. Neither are worked. Holeshot is still pretty good with 2 guys and full wells.

If you want to reduce the walk don't trim as much. If you want to get the most out of it you need to control the walk.

My 919 is on order and will come with a 25 Fury 3 blade. I may end up being really happy with it as is, but I read where the Fury 4 should reduce chine but be a few MPH slower on the top end. I was intrigued, as a few MPH on the top end isn't that important to me. I was just curious if anyone could confirm this... or is this bad information?

It will be a little slower but should handle big water better. The hole shot is so good with these boats a 4 blade really isn't needed unless you have a couple big guys in the boat and full gas and wells. But what I was getting at is the 3 blade with be just as fast with no chine as the 4 if you just don't trim as much.

Thanks for the input Jason. Makes sense. I was just wondering, and that pretty much clears it up. It sounds like I will be more than happy with the 3 blade once I get some seat time.

I think what Jeff is saying is the same thing.

Speed is not a factor for the OP, therefore the need to control the chine is a non factor. Keep her trimmed back a little = no chine = no need for a 4 blade.

I can drive my 919 75 and take my hands off the wheel for a few seconds. Getting the extra 2.3mph however is a totally new ball game.

Everyone always talks about the chine walk and learning to drive it which is true at the top end. But the chine walk happened on my 919 at different speeds as I adjusted my weight balance. Since I fish alone most of the time, I found by putting most of my heavy tackle in the port rear box and keeping the starboard side light in my boat I could get to 75. It runs straight and no walk at all and adding water to the port live well also helped and I am about 200.
