    j40elcec propshaft seal

    Water in oil. I see 4 bolts. After them what are the next steps? Any special tools? Is it a simple job? Materials other than a new seal? 1989 you tube not much help for make and model.

    No not too many questions. Just pull the carrier and seal the prop shaft as long as your are sure your leak is coming from there.

    Found some small diameter line in/around the seal. Last years oil change only had a little water, this the oil is pea green.

    Pop the carrier then and replace the seals.

    I have a 5 gallon bucket of new OMC/BRP seals. I may have the right ones. Ill look tomorrow if you haven't already ordered a kit.
