    Bass boat carpet

Looking to put new carpet in my 2003 Triton TR-19. Was wondering what carpet you guys would recommend? I’m just looking for a solid carpet at an affordable price not necessarily a top of the line carpet...thanks

Am thinking of going with the 16oz as I heard it works better for older boats as far as closing compartment lids? Or is the 20 oz worth the extra $100?

IMO...I’d never go less than 20oz....just must nicer. Should have no issues with lids unless you go to 24oz.

If it were me I would get the best carpet available. It is a pretty big job and I wouldn't want to do it twice. I have always heard that Bass Cat makes the best carpet and I think it is 24 ounce. If/when I recarpet mine it will be with Bass Cat carpet.

24 oz basscat here. Use an electric razor on the edges of the lids. No problems. I would also add their pad under the carpet.

the 20 oz is what your boat came with. 16 oz is the thin stuff you see on a lot of aluminum rigs. bassboatseats.com has good carpet and they are very easy to deal with. currently restoring my boat with all bassboatseat.com products

One thing you’ll learn real quick is that if you’re going to go through the headache of replacing your carpet you won’t ever want to do it again. So do it right, and use quality components. I’ve used a little bit of everything and personally there’s just no comparison for workability, quality and durability than syntec.
