    I never said I thought it was OK....I said they are doing it ----- and I think successfully...

    We were discussing 150s....

    I said they are doing it and as far as I know the .125 transoms have not had problems with higher horsepower..... Some .100 aluminum transoms HAVE HAD a history of having cracking problems with the 150s. Some even reported on here.

    I think the Tracker 195 had a few problems early on.

    This will give you some information regarding that question. There is another brand or so mentioned in the thread and I know also of a different brand than these that has had problems with the combo... and some brands have gone to a beefier transom with the 150s.

    We still don't know if all these were fixed or not....and considering that we have a very very small number of the rigs here for there to be problems with that few, it would concern me. I think Ranger has not had a problem that I know of and the pulltrusion certainly does not hurt. It should spread out the torque force some and it seems they are all ok so far. But like I said.....there is a reason that Xpress went from .100 to .125 for their hulls and transoms with the bigger motors. I doubt they did it for the heck of it for fun....... I just feel that if I bought one with a 150 that the heavier transom and hull would be better for me personally.

    I read the thread... The only boat I saw mentioned was Tracker. One guy said his G3 was falling apart but never mentioned any transom troubles or anything like that. He owned a 07 G3 eagle 190 that he bought used and ran several years.
