Operating boat with emergency jump start switch turned on?

How about running the boat with the emergency jumper switch in the jump position? What will this hurt? The owners manual is very misleading on which is on and which is off. The manual says "DO NOT OPERATE BOAT WITH JUMPER SWITCH IN JUMP POSITION" Immediately switch jump switch to off before operating. When I bought my boat it was in the jump position and I never paid attention and have ran it at least 5 times until noticing last night it was on. This picture shows the switch off (vertical) in none jump mode, turning the switch to the right (horizontal) will show a green on window for jump mode.

I ran mine with it on for a couple months before I realized it. Never seen any problems but I would like to know also.

"Shouldn't" hurt anything -positives- it will actually slightly re-charge your trolling batteries while you are running, I actually do this from time to time when I've forgot to re-charge batteries

"could" hurt things- negitives - could put to much of a load on engine charging system, if you run trolling batteries dead you could run your starting battery dead and leave yourself stranded, on board battery charger may not fully recharge batteries as will be getting readings from 2 batteries.

Your boat builder ordered the wrong switch.

Order this to fix your setup so there is zero confusion and someone doesn't mistake it for a regular battery switch in the future.

Installing that yellow switch would make to much sense and be too easy to understand! That's why they install the same switch for main power on/off and the emergency jump. Thanks guys for the input.
