I feel like my 2000 200 Ficht was more fuel efficient than my 2008 200HO Etec. The opposite for oil.

Same for me when comparing my 1999 150 Ficht to my 2013 E-TECH 150 HO...with that being said my 150 HO still gets great fuel and oil economy compared to other motors but the fuel economy of my 1999 150 Ficht was simply amazing.

Well I can tell you that either the 3 star vs 2 star is a difference in how they achieved it and maybe that is why the g1 etec is alittle more thirsty
the power kw are definitely nt the same on the serial plate for the 225ho in 03 vs 2011

I have been running a primary 10 micron Moeller filter/water separator with sight glass in my bilge before the engine's on-board 10 micron BRP fuel filter for 8 years now. I've never seen a drop of water in the bowl. I also burn no-ethanol gas sometimes 87 and sometimes 91 octane. I am convinced trash or/and bits of deteriorated fuel hose has been the demise of injectors on the Ficht and ETEC engines and therefore the burned/leaned out pistons. I've had 2 injected engines and all injectors on both engines have been replaced. I haven't had a failure now in the eight years I've been double filtering my fuel. It may blow tomorrow but so far so good.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure I understood. Already have a a filter in the bilge area, so I'll just keep it in place then.

Going from the 97 225 Vindicator to the 03 225HO FICHT Ram is the wiring harness the same? I'm getting all the controls and wiring harness with this motor.

Yep. Just remember on that motor there is a return line from the motor to the oil tank and you'll need to prime the oil pump along with the fuel pump. There is no VRO to bypass on this guy so you can't premix.
