What does everyone think about purchasing one instead of brand new

It would depend on who refurbished it.

No problem as long as they put a warranty on their work if they say as is I wouldn't buy.

Something to also take into consideration is Minn Kota Refurb only has a 1 year warranty but a brand new one has 2 year warranty.

Risk/reward - how much are you saving vs. cost of new one.
Who did the refurb and is there a warranty.

Had a 96 MG rebuilt and converted to digital about ten years ago, still works as good as the day I got it back. Way cheaper than a new motor even back then.

The last two trolling motors I purchased were refurbished and I have not had any problems at all. Most still give you a 1 year warranty and usually if anything is going to happen it will.
