I spent a day where I kept up with running time and stayed around 35 mph every run other than a minimum of idling time. Rough estimate, using gps speed and time traveled to compute distance and refilling the tank to calculate gallons burned, I came up with an estimate of just under 7 mpg. This is a 2016 115 4stroke on a Ranger aluminum boat with just me and no passenger and started with a full tank of fuel. You have a larger engine and heavier boat. I will also say that these 4stroke Mercury engines seem very efficient up to about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and then really increase fuel consumption once you get over 3/4 throttle. Backing off just 5 mph could make a big difference.
So maybe I’m not doing to bad
i should have said gph in the header
the Boat has a small gas tank too
maybe that creates and illusion Of using more gas than I think I should be
OK, so gph for me is roughly 5 gallons at 30-35 mph. Also are you running ethanol free or E10? I run strictly 87 octane ethanol free. It would give better numbers than E10.
I get about 14-15 mpg.....

GPH makes sense. I was not going to throw the bs flag on the op but I had reached for it.
About 6 gph with my 200 vrod/checkmate br@ cruise speed about 28mph

You should be able to do better than that. My 2015 Margay would only burn 10 gph cruising between 45-48. I had a 6" jack plate running a 24P Signature SL4. With a 25P Tempest Plus I could do 50-52 at 10 gph.

6.1mpg at 3380rpm and 29 - 30mph but that's with my 2.5L Optimax.
