My budget is very very tight so I need to install these myself. A couple of guys in my club installed talons last weekend and they said it was a piece of cake. My fear is dealing with the pumps and making sure all my lines are straight etc.

For those who have installed blades how hard was it? Any tips or videos would be helpful. Also, any issues getting both poles to drop at the same time at the same speed?

Basically my wife has somewhat approved the purchase and that's a stretch...but the install would probably cost me 250-300...I really need to save that money.

Pics or any info would be helpful.

    Thanks
    Mike
. Simple to install, they charge around $500 to $1000 to 8nstall them around here so I did it myself. I did run my hoses in a mesh sleeve from Cable Ties and More along with shrink tube. Look as good or better than the local boat shop would have done. Pm me if you have any questions.

Hey if anyone wants to help with the install I'll have beer and pizza.

I've got some guys in the club that will help me with the install but its the first time for all of us. I looked today and I found where I can move my onboard charger to.

I also looked at some pics in a google search and saw where folks mounted the pump brackets on the back wall of the bilge...is it ok for the pumps to be suspended like that? Seems like you would want a sturdy bottom to support them and they won't bounce around...

Will I need to drill holes in my jackplate? I have a pro hi-jacker. My jackplate is as high up as it can go.

no holes to drill! bolt up using your 2 lower bolts, 10 min install of brackets to jackplate.

You guys have been awesome so Im going to continue with my questions.

Do you guys put a wood block or something under the motor? I know you would do one bracket at a time. Will the bolts on the other side be enough to support the motor while you get the bracket sturdy?

I plan on installing the poles this Saturday. I'm trying to do as much as I can now in the way of prep etc.

    Thanks y'all

Yea I'd support some how so not all the pressure is on the adjusting bolt and the other side.

if you do one side at a time then no need for the block. All the weight is on the screw when you adjust so not really a big deal. not like your leaving it for any length of time.

One suggestion if you have not thought of it. I would wire in a power switch one of each pole. The pump controls pulls juice all the time and if you leave it set up with out a charger on all the time the batteries will be drained.

you should wire in a battery cut off switch yes, however not 1 for each pole as mentioned above. 1 battery cut off with both poles going to it.
