I sold my boat yesterday and looking for a used 496 or 596 (). I have all but pulled the trigger on Pro-Hunts 496, but I would really like to stay in the 25k range. If any of you know of one out there on the market, please let me know asap.
Also, how big is the 2 front middle storage compartments? Like how many plano boxes can fit in each? And how big of a screen can be flush mounted in the dash?
You can only fit a 5" screen in the dash unless you lose some gauges. The two front compartments are the identical size. I would say you could fit at least 20 planos in each one. More than I own! There is a really nice one on Kansas City Craigslist. Pro-hunts is the one I would be looking at!
In my old 396 I could fit 21 3600 Plano boxes behind the seats. I'd think you could put 40? You'd have to remove most as the compartments extend under the decks.
Oh, and buy Hunts boat.

front deck is around 5 inches longer and same as 496 but the rear is twice as big
