    Sealing jackplate bolts

    Deer season is over in a few weeks need to seal up my jackplate and put new bolts in can I change bolts out and seal them one at a time or do I need to pull engine thanks

    I would think if the plate is still tight against the transom one bolt at a time should work. What size are you going to replace them with? I would recommend and min size of 9/16" in grade 8 with grade 8 locking nuts.

    It might be a big pain in the arse but if I were going to the trouble to replace them...go ahead and put the big bolts in and be done with it....they need big arse bolts....and not stainless....
