I have a 2002 javelin 185 looking at putting hyd steering on it what type do you guys run and what are the pro and cons
I installed a Sea Star Pro in my 285. The only con I can think of is the steering wheel never stays in time, a three spoke would stop that.

I put U-flex on my '93 285 Pro XL, no downsides besides the cost. It was also my first hydro steering so it took a few trips to get used to how the boat drove a bit different but that's not really a downside.

My 2008 285 came with Bay Star Hyd.
My 2004 285 ProXL came with SeaStar Pro steering. Love it. Have changed the cylinder/piston seals once. Wouldn’t have a bass boat without it.
