    Navionics

Thought I'd try here, looking to grab a used Chip for the lower Potomac. Would like to get a Premium but just not sure if they have the tidal potomac (st. Clements island area).

    Thanks in advance guys

    Navionics+
Provides inshore/offshore coastal data and you have the option of window selecting what areas you need on the card vs everything in the US & Canada. This itemized selection process limits the data on the card and allows the MFD to run much faster. + includes inland lakes/rivers too. Get a NEW card and it comes with a year of updates.

*Note when updating the card DO NOT download Community Edits!!!! This is not reviewed by Navionics to any extent to make it reliable. Buffy/Chip & Bubba upload crap to Navionics via this same card update process. You have no idea what junk mapping unit they have on the boat or how the sonar is mounted/operating. Not to mention any land based adds like marina's that Buffy says is "yummy" for dinner. This yuk will lay on your mapping.
No laws in place to neuter these folks yet...

The way more expensive Premium Chip for the mid-Atlantic/canyons has all the same marine content and advanced features found in Navionics+ but includes 3D View, satellite overlay and panoramic photos of marinas and harbors. Which none I would ever use.

Need to add DO NOT enable Community Edits on your MFD. This will add the crap noted above to your chart.
