$600 I believe is what I paid. Fast turn around.

Which motor? They can do most but not all Mercs.

Shipping can get spendy if insuring full value. I had over $100 for shipping to them.

If your engine is a mercury I would post this also on the mercury forum. You will probably need the serial number. If I am not mistaken back in 2015 I was quoted between $800.00 to $900.00 to have the ecu rebuilt.I forget the name of the company. If that dosent fix your problem I would have the injectors recalibrated and cleaned especially if they have never been done.Intermittent electrical problems can drive you crazy. Thanks and good luck to you

Drive you crazy is right. I have spent two summers and thousands of dollars trying to get mine figured out. Still not 100% but definitely better since the Simon fix. I have another ECU to try next spring to see if that does any better. If it does Simons and I will have a chat.

Whipple also does Mercury ECU/ECM/PCM work.

Thanks guys, I posted this on the Merc forum awhile back and everything is pointing to the ecu. When my motor gets good and hot after running then ill go to move and the fuel pump will not come on but the motor will crank. Let it cool down and it starts no problem. Gotta love the EFI motors

Yes it sounds like the fuel pump driver in your ECU is bad. Failures on the older EFI ECU's has become a lot more common the last few years. I've had 3 customers ECU's rebuilt in the last few months. We use CDI Electronics in Huntsville Al. They may be a little more expensive than what some have mentioned here but they do good work. They replace all of the injector drivers, the fuel pump driver, re-calibrate all the parameters and anything else that may need done while they're in it. They also send you a report on the pre-repair & post-repair test that they perform, showing what was wrong and that it's fixed.

You can also look at Brucato for a replacement. I ended up going with a Brucato ACU on my 98 Merc 150 and couldn't be happier.

I am thinking a few years ago mercury was pricing them around $1900.00 for new but it also said "no longer available".I thought to myself the new ones are so expensive maybe mercury isn't selling any because everyone is just having them rebuilt and save half of the cost.

I believe a new ecu for my motor was close to $3,000.

I want to say it was $1,500. Tony will be able to add a tune to the ACU that will also help the motor run better. I sent them my ECU and they checked it out while cleaning my injectors. The fuel driver had gone bad and I decided to replace with their unit rather than a used ECU from ebay. My motor has never ran better.

The ACU is a digital unit that comes with one year warranty and can be programed or later reprogrammed if swapped to a different HP efi for any 2002 or older 2.5 or 2.4L merc.

If it is a fuel pump driver gone bad I would just put a relay under the cowl and wire the fuel pump for key on 12V...

Thats the purpose of the relay. They wire it so that when the key is on the pump is powered all the time instead of the ECM powering it.
