    Ranger Boat Price (Used)

    Hi all,

I was pretty big into bass fishing about ten years ago and was in tune with the market price for bass boats. However, over the last several years I have lost touch with it. Now I am considering a return and am considering buying another boat. A 2001 Ranger R71 with a 125HP mercury has popped up on my radar. The boat is in excellent condition with less than 100 hours. What is the going price for a boat such as this? What would be a good deal?

    thanks in advance.

i would get a 18' with a 150 motor, that r71 is a real small boat (i owned one) no storage, small front deck,no rod storage to speak of maybe 6.6 rods, been there before

Considering its a Ranger probably about $50K.

Joking aside, I would say that it would probably go for about 12-15K and that is just a guess.

Sounds about right to me. Pretty stark difference in prices of boats under 18 feet with motors under 150 vs. those over.

I used to fish out of one of those as well and buster502 is right, you can't fit rods under the deck! Bring a pole with when you when you go to look at it and test it out to see if maybe I'm wrong. Maybe that's not important to you though. Just a heads up in case it's not something you has considered.

Price wise i think 6,000 would be a good deal with that few hours. 7500 is what I would start it at if I had one to sell.

Are you set on Ranger? My first boat was a 2007 275XL Stratos. Had a 90 on it but could be equipped with a 125. For its size it had plenty of storage up front. I kept 7' rods and am pretty sure I could have gone upwards of 7'6 if needed. Really wide deck for a 17.5" long boat. I think I gave 8500 or around there a couple years ago.

Just another option if you are set on a 17' ish boat.
