    New Crestliner on order

Ordered a Crestliner Retriever 1660 side console this week. The new 2018 models now have the 16ft boat with a 60" bottom width. Last year's model was 52". So that tripped the trigger for me.

Keeping things simple, putting a couple Helix 5's on it and the new Terrova. Looking forward to the improved spot lock and especially the jog feature and easy deploy/stow lever.

Congrats on your new Crestliner! I don't think I'll ever get rid of my 1988 Crestliner Sabre V220.

A larger width is the way to go for sure. Unless it can’t fit.

Just a fyi: Unless they changed brands since our 2015 VT17... The trailer came with Power King Towmax STR tires, they are only rated to 65mph.
I had one blow out on the highway last week (Belt broke in center of tread) Researching after the fact I found they get a ton of negative reviews.

I just picked up 3 Carlisle Radial Trail HD tires (Load D rated to 81mph) from Summit Racing for 46.35 each and free shipping.
I had Carlisle on the last boat and never had a problem.

Sooner*Redneck - I ordered from Whites Marine Center in Pittsburg, MO. Third boat I have bought from them. I don't even think about going anywhere else. They gave me a very fair price on my trade-in. They do a lot of volume and a few years ago when I was shopping for a VT17, no one was close to their price. Rob is great to work with.

One-over-par - One of the reason I'm trading in my Crestliner Discovery 1650 is the trailer tire size. It has 12" tires and no room to put on 13". It came with Carlisle Sport Trailer load range C tires. Had a blowout with these as well. Odd, the new boat is about 120 lbs lighter than the Discovery, but comes with 13" tires. I feel much better with 13" than 12" tires.

My boat has a 54” bottom. Going to a 60” is a big difference. But from a 52” to 60” is huge on stability.

I have a Crestliner Retriever 1860 CC tunnel hull with a 115/80 Mercury Jet. Ran it for a year and a half so far... Great boat!
