Signed the contract for an RT188 yesterday. I will pick it up next week after they mount the Ultrex, ladder, tie downs, etc. I had them delete the basic depth finder to keep them from making a hole in the dash that would likely not work for the upgraded electronics I plan to purchase in the next few weeks. I am keeping the HB off the old boat to use in the short term if needed. Looking forward to making some other mods that have seen on this site over the winter. Thanks for everyone's help thus far.

One upgrade that was important to me was the 6 x 15 amp battery charger when I bought my RT 198. Wished I would have got the boarding ladder.

    13p Trophy Sport, is a great prop for the 60hp on a 178 and a 175.

You may want to change trailer jack, just bought a 178 and that was a necessary change. Agree with other comments and love my new boat.

Power pole too. I love mine, one works pretty well. I run a spitfire prop.

Make sure that they don't install ANYTHING at the console if you're going to ad your own graphs. Mine came with the standard little graph and it looked like they gouged out the hole with a spoon. Had to have a cover made to hide it when I put my stuff on.

You made a very smart choice IMHO. There is a lot of difference in the boats. I like the center rod locker of the RT188 better. I have lived with this boat for four years now and still like it a lot. It does everything I need it to do and has never let me down. I have never regretted the decision to buy it. If I was a long way from a ramp and a storm wanted to kick up, I would rather have the 115 and be running about 50. I like the storage layout of the RT188 better and the extra length and extra horsepower .........but like the saying goes - there's a butt made for every seat.

i don't pick it up until next week. They had to mount the trolling motor, ladder, and other options. It's the metallic silver color.

Have to agree with Mike Thompson, wish my new RT 178 would not have included a Hook3 installed in dash, even though it was free, it left a hole when I installed a Helix 7 to dash that I had to cover.
