Is there any decent bass fishing near Fort Knox area?

My wife's job is moving us back to Fort Knox, Kentucky around March-May timeframe. Is there any decent lakes to fish for bass? We use to live in Fort Knox back in 2012-2013 but that time I did not bass fish and was only fishing for stripers, whitebass and crappies only.

When I was in the Army I fished Lower Douglas on base. It's a decent sized small lake, I heard of fish up to 7lb being caught there. Biggest one I caught at Lower Douglas was around 5lb.

Doe Valley is a private community lake that I've got to fish a few times, I've heard of 9lb and 10lb coming from there. Again, the biggest one I've caught there is 5lb. It's bigger than Lower Douglas and you're allowed up to a 9.9hp outboard on it. I've been debating the last few years of buying a lot there just to have fishing access/rights to the lake....

There's another small lake/pond by Otter Creek. I forgot the name of it, but it has a campground right next to it. Then there's Otter Creek itself, but I've never fished it. I'm sure someone else will chime in that's fished Otter Creek.

Doe Valley is definitely your best shot at one 5lb or bigger....

    Good luck....

Within an hour and a half you have Barren River Lake, Green River Lake, Nolin Lake, and Rough River Lake.

Yep. But you almost need a boat. There are areas but for the better fishing it helps.
