Where/how are you guys mounting your LSS2 or totalscan transducer on the rear of your boat? I’m trying to decide best option before I spend more money or make holes and don’t like the outcome. Thanks coach

My partner uses one of these mini stern savers to hold his lss2 ducer.
First time out in 3'ers it held great slammin around, and it's still on 2 years now.
Don't even think about it anymore. He used the mini, the full size is BIG!

Put on inside jp
Mine worked fine like this. Bolted to outside of JP.
Mini transom saver on the back of the pad. It's well protected under there.
Transducer shield and saver mount. Mine is on the port side of jack plate. Be SURE to adjust it the be level as the boat sits in water. If you don't clean the scum line off your boat you can use this as a reference! It will give you the correct angle.
^^^ Do you fish many lakes with timber? I like the hidden look of that, but I'm afraid it would make it 1 trip on Lake Palestine or Fork. Coach
The hull will make contact before it gets to the transducer. I don't like anything touching my hull but water lol.
That's not always an option here in TX. You can roll up on a tree in 40' of water in places. I'm afraid that when you roll off a stump that it'll get the xducer mounted there ... I'm considering Totalscan or Structurescan 3D for my HDS-12 Gen3. Both transducers are about the same length. I know clarkbird mounted his totalscan to his jack plate. Just curious how the 2D is at speed with it mounted that high up. May end up going LSS-2 where I can just replace my LSS-1 that's on my jack plate and use the internal transducer for 2D. Whole lot cheaper than Structurescan 3D too ...

If both my LSS2 and HST transducers are mounted on the transom or Jackplate area, how far away from each other do they need to be so there isnt interference? Coach
There shouldn't be any interference, your HST is 83KHz/200KHz and your LSS-2 is 455KHz/800Khz. Lowrance has both built into the TotalScan transducer.
True! Rain has me thinking slow today!!!
