Check out the Pflueger line up and read the reviews. I have some Shimano's and Daiwas, and i'm switching over all my spinning reels as they wear out.

Cabelas Verano. It's basically a Daiwa Ballistic. It's a very nice reel for the price, I bought my dad one last year. On sale now for like $90. I'd get this one over the Fuego.

I may go with the verano, $90 is hard to pass that up if it is the cabelas version of the ballistic

I didn't even know it was on sale until I looked it up for the exact price. I'm probably going to have to pick up one for myself now too or maybe another one for dad.

I've tried all the pflueger spinning reels including the patriarch, and i'd take a any daiwa over $100 over all pfluegers. Get you a daiwa and don't look back.

I'll repost my stock answer ...

Daiwa Tournament SS1300. It's been in continuous production for 30 years for a good reason - it'll outperform and outlast just about all the rest. No exotic materials, no bells or whistles of any kind. All sting, no bling. Yup, it's butt ugly but she knows how to cook.

Read the reviews, there's hundreds of them all over the interwebs ... Best $100 you'll ever spend on a spinner.

I switched out all my Shimano spinning reels for Veranos two years ago. Couldn't be happier.

I’ve got a Pflueger Patriarch I picked up for $155.00 last year. You can find some deals on eBay. Hard to beat at any price.
The Supreme is another solid reel at the $99.00 price point. Haven’t found anything I didn’t like about it. Smooth as butter, and light.
I’ve caught hundreds of Crappie and bass with it.
