    Break away trailer tongue

With all the mishaps that can happen at the ramp what would you do if someone decided to steal your pins out of your trailer tongue ? Is there a way to secure them against vandels? If stolen while on the water you sure aren't going any where

Thought the same thing so I bought two spares and keep in my boat just in case that situation happens.

Yea thought about doing the same but at some point it could turn into a game if you know what I mean. Maybe Basscat can chime in with a solution.

A small lock and drill the pin holes out is what we've seen done.

I keep spare pins in my truck, I also have a couple of spare caps for the opening to the brake fluid filler. And, I have a spare bow roller.

No, they are too big in diameter. You would be altering the tongue and drilling larger holes.

I am using these for my hitch pin, swing tongue, and locking my spare. They use your truck key so you dont have to carry more keys.. http://www.boltlock.com/

Take one from your trailer with you to your local Tractor Supply store. They should have the pins in stock.

Didn’t mean to mislead. Sorry. Description says it’s for a swingaway tongue. Guess I should measure pin diameter. There’s no information on size of the pins required for the BCB tongue on the website. I have seen a similar lockable pin on swingaway tongues.
Just need to find the right size and I’ll post it.

Razorcat post a link if you can find any thing Fishndav-to be clear I'm talking about the large pins you have to remove to swing the trailer tongue to the side for storage, which product on the site you listed will lock those pins in place when trailering? Thanks guys for all the input.

I found a small enough lock that fits the bottom hole .. No issues..

Yes, I have one for my swing tongue. It is the best anti- theft device out there for an unhitched trailer. Break the tongue open, put the lock back in, nobody can trailer it. The 5/8 receiver lock is the right one.
